Innovative Sports Features Make Cruise Ships A Healthier Place To Be
? 2006
Generally the phrase "cruise ship" brings about thoughts of pampering, exceptional food, indulgence and luxury. While these are still the case, no one can deny our culture as a whole is becoming more health-conscious by the day. The cruise industry recognizes this. In fact, several cruise lines are incorporating some pretty innovative sports features into the designs of their new ships due out later this year.
Norwegian Cruise Line is looking forward to the launch of its latest vessel, Norwegian Pearl, in February 2007. Pearl will feature a fitness center (as most ships do). But most notably, Pearl will be the first ship to include a full-size, 10-pin bowling alley.
Following the fitness trend herself, Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas (which will debut in May 2006) throws some punches of her own - boxing punches, that is. Freedom will be the first ship to offer a full-size boxing ring. Freedom plans incorporate the inclusion of Royal Caribbean's popular FlowRider? surfing simulator as well as a new group Pilates reformer studio.
Fight Klub will offer Freedom guests a variety of boxing-related activities. Go one-on-one with an experienced instructor. Run the circuit with speed bags, jump ropes, heavy bags and more. Spar with body master bags or work out with your own on-site boxing coach.
Looking for something a little less intense, but just as effective? Freedom will include the first-ever dedicated Pilates reformer group exercise program at sea. Personalized training is available for guests who can also partake of yoga classes while onboard.
The newest cruise ships, such as Pearl and Freedom, also offer a variety of fitness classes including step, total body conditioning, stretching, core, circuit training, walking, jogging, running, strength training and more.
To further your knowledge of good practices for a healthy lifestyle, seminars are also available on a wide range of topics.
Not all fitness activities take place on the ships. Freedom will also add an innovative feature for runners and walkers. "Avid runners can follow mapped-out routes at select ports of call and enjoy a safe run at each destination without having to worry about getting lost on their way back to the ship or measuring the distance on their own."
From ice skating to rock climbing to the always-popular treadmill jog, cruise ships are following the fitness craze. As you can plainly see, cruising is now more about living your best life in balance than sheer indulgence. While you're being pampered, getting a glowing tan and treating yourself to truly lavish cuisine, you can also be toning, shaping and firming so you look better than ever when you return.

Vita Coco Coconut Water, 11.2-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12)
Vita Coco Coconut Water, 11.2-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12)
Customer Review: Perfect
I just read about the coconut water and decided to buy it for it's affect on aging skin. Turning 38 was not a very good day for me.
I looked around and could only find this brand at my local grocery store, so I bought a few flavors and decided to give it a go. Ironically, I bought them on days when I was rushing around and didn't have time to eat. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my son a few years ago and noticed I can have some pretty bad crashes if I don't eat at pretty short intervals.
Anyway, I had gone a few hours without eating and drank one of the packs I bought thinking nothing of it. It was about two hours after drinking the beverage that I noticed I had not eaten anything in about four or five hours. I was not hungry and my blood sugar did not take the plunge it usually takes.
I was amazed. The very next day, I brought along some coconut water because I had a meeting and knew I was not going to be eating for awhile. The same thing happened. It helped me get through the meeting without crashing.
Now, I cannot get through the day without having my coconut water. My favorite is the pineapple. My two year old also loves it. He says, "Uhmm, good!"
I would rate this a 10 if I could just for what it does for my blood sugar.
Customer Review: Refreshing, Delicious and Energizing!
VitaCoco is the next best thing if you aren't able to crack open a fresh coconut. I love it because it's a great alternative to juice drinks and I can take these little packages with me on walks and bike rides. In my opinion there is nothing as refreshing on a hot day as cool coconut water, yum!
Vacu Vin Wine Saver Gift Pack, White
Vacu Vin Wine Saver Gift Pack, White
Vacu-Vin wine saver system. The only thing sadder than pouring spoiled wine down the drain is not opening it at all because you can't finish the bottle at one meal. The one and only, original Vacu-Vin, used in more than 10 million homes worldwide, is the easiest, most affordable way to preserve opened wines. The Vacu-Vin pump removes the air (and the oxygen that spoils wine) from opened bottles. Place it over the reusable stopper and pump out the air. The more stoppers you have, the more bottles you can save! One-year warranty. Includes one pump and two stoppers. Gift boxed. Fits any size or type wine bottle. Additonal stoppers available here
Customer Review: WINE SAVER
This is a great product for conserving the wine you didn't finish. Its easy to use, and very effective.
Customer Review: Works Great, Without Making Long Bottles Longer
I realize that a 100% complete vacumn is not achived. However, it does remove excess air (try it on a plastic soda bottle; it sucks the bottle inward). Most importantly for me, my bottles don't have to have the cork pounded in so deep it is very difficult to take them out again. The reusable bottle stopper only adds a few milimeters to the length of the bottle. And, it is SO much easier to open and reclose bottles. Well worth the money!
Super Bowl XXXI - Green Bay Packers Championship Video
Super Bowl XXXI - Green Bay Packers Championship Video
Cheeseheads, rejoice. This video is for those lovable, loyal Packer fans who wear the yellow foam slices of cheese on their heads: a celebration of a marvelous 13-3 regular-season record that culminates in a 35-21 victory over New England in the 1997 Super Bowl. As usual, NFL Films rises to the occasion with an excellent video narrated by the unmistakable voice of Harry Kalas. It not only dissects the Packers' return to glory, it provides insight into the fanatical followers of the only completely publicly owned franchise in the smallest city of pro sports. There is a special relationship between the fans, the city, and the team unlike any other in sports. Beyond that, this video recaps the MVP season of quarterback Brett Favre, the resurrection of washed-up kick-returner Desmond Howard, and the culmination of the highly religious Reggie White's long journey to the NFL promised land. It also examines the marvelous coaching job by Mike Holgrem in overcoming a rash of serious injuries to his wide receivers. In the 1960s, Green Bay became known as "Titletown, USA" during one of the most dominating championship runs in all of sports. It took 29 years for the Pack to make it all the way back. And this celebration is the culmination of that journey. Cheeseheads and all pro-football fans will enjoy reliving the return of the Lombardi Trophy to the town Vince Lombardi made famous. --Gordie Sholtys
Customer Review: Favre is the man!
Great video about a great season.........what more can I say? Very well done, definately a must have for all cheeseheads!
Customer Review: Good
This is a great way to remember the Packers the way they were, not the way they are now. Let's bring Holmgren back. He was the best coach the Packers ever had. Sorry Vince. "Bad Moon" Rison's TD to start the game and Farve's excited run across the field should put shivers down the back of any loyal Packer-Backer!!
Hasbro Electronic Hyper Slide
Hasbro Electronic Hyper Slide
Be quick, pick the right colored hyper disc, and flick it under the arch before time runs out. The Hyper Slide from Hasbro packs three fast-paced electronic table-top games into one compact unit. Recommended for ages eight and up, these fast-sliding games for one or two players are fun and exciting for kids and adults.
![]() The hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch. View larger. |
![]() Three fast-paced electronic table-top games in one stylish unit. View larger. |
With its sleek, arched design, Hyper Slide looks like a futuristic game. Resembling a hockey game for a table top, the object is to flip the pucks through the goal. However, in these games the goal can be scored from both sides of the arch, and there are four different-colored pucks, called hyper discs. The game's electronic unit calls out a color, and you must pick that color and sent it through the arc. It automatically detects whether you've passed the right disc or not. When not in operation, the hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch.
Three Games for Solo Play or Two-Person Play
The Hyper Slide offers a few variations of play for your enjoyment. Two lighted buttons on the top of the Hyper Slide make it easy to choose which of the three games you want to play.
While the objects of the games are simple, playing them can be a fun challenge. The first game, "Fast Pass," is all about speed. The game commands a color and you've got to pass it through the goal quickly before the buzzer blasts. With "Add One," you've got to remember the order of colors. You start with a color and add one to the sequence each time you complete a round. "Code Buster" gives you 90 seconds to decipher the secret series of colors.
Best of all, you can play all these games with a friend or by yourself. With both "Fast Pass" and "Add One," you can even play head-to-head with another player or team. For solo play, the rubber "hyper band" is attached under the arch, bouncing the discs back to your side.
Put to the Test
Playing on any smooth, nonmetal surface, you'll be surprised how much fun the Hyper Slide really is. An announcer's voice, high-energy music, and sound effects move these games along. With your head in the game, you'll soon block out all the noise and only hear the color to flick, slide, or shoot through the arch. Unfortunately, if the constant voice directions are not your thing, the game can't be played without these sounds, nor can the volume be adjusted. On the plus side, the Hyper Slide announces your score at the end of each competition and keeps track of the highest score for each game. This electronic system runs on three "AAA" batteries (sold separately). If the Hyper Slide goes unused for two minutes, this smartly designed toy "goes to sleep," saving battery life until the player buttons are pressed.
Pros
- 3 fast-paced games for 2-person and solo play
- Lighted buttons make it easy to switch through games
- Games remember high scores
- Electronic game shuts off on its own
- Game must be played with announcer and music going
- Volume can't be controlled
Hyper Slide electronic game, hyper band, and 4 hyper discs.
Customer Review: Lots of fun
This is a really fast-paced game, and the children (ages 8-12) have really enjoyed it. I have, too! They've only played it a few times since Christmas, so I can't speak to the product's durability, but it appears to be well constructed, and the puck holder is a godsend (if my kids can lose something, they will).
Customer Review: WOW! What fun!
Whether you are going solo or with 2, 3, 4 or more players, this one is totally fun and fast! I highly recommend this, it is so worth the price. The only drawback is someone getting way too intense on keeping it going - then laughing and starting over.
I appreciate the fact that all pieces are stored within the unit. The only thing I have to complain about at all is the fact that sometimes I simply can not hear what color is being called out. The game is not one of the annoying ones that are so loud you can't stand to turn it on - but you better listen good!
Totally fun and fast!
Game Party

Using the Wii Remote, guide your darts, slide your shuffleboard pucks, or launch your skii balls for the ultimate party experience. Up to four player can play at once! Other games include: Table Hockey, Trivia, Ping Cup,&Hoop Shot.
Customer Review: Great games for the most part
My husband and I have had a lot of fun with this game. We especially like shuffleboard, darts, and skee-ball. We had fun with unlocking new levels too. The one thing we did NOT like was the "cups" game. It is a bit hard to get the hang of, but the thing we really didn't like was that it goes on forever. If you are doing poorly, this is quite tedious. The only way we could find to abandon the game and play something else was to restart the game.
This game would be acceptable for most ages in a family. pretty clean cut overall even though the "setting" is a bar.
Customer Review: Wii have fun with Wii Game Party
What I like about this game was that I wanted air hockey and this has it! I also like that the darts and shuffleboard have a 4 player option. We've been trying to find Wii games to play with our kids (teens) and this fits the bill. What I don't like, and why it got 4 not 5 stars, is that you can't use your Mii, and the skii ball and basketball are one player only. You can unlock extra players and equipment with "tickets" that can be earned as you play. Nothing too earth shattering. One quirk of the game is how the chararacters that are in the crowd watching the play have a bizzare habit of wiping imaginary crumbs off their shirts. You have to check that out, it's very funny. I'd recommend this game and think you'll have fun with it too.

Customer Review: Great Camera -- Believe the good reviews
the Powershot SD850 has all the features you need in a compact digital camera and it takes great pictures.
I bought this camera to replace a Nikon Coolpix which, unfortunately, was stolen over the holidays. I'm always hesitant to purchase items based on online reviews, but this Canon seemed to have such glowing reviews on every site that I figured I couldn't go wrong. So far, that's been true.
Excellent things about this camera:
* Decent zoom - 4x Optical and the digital zoom is not bad all.
* Flash control - I like controlling the use of the flash (and battery power), so it's nice to have this ability conveniently located on the back of the camera.
* Intuitive design - The system menus are very easy to figure out and utilize. The over design of this camera lends itself easily to those scared of technology (kids and/or grandparents), while still having plenty of tweakable options that more advanced users like to play around with.
* Manual and Auto Shooting - Both have their pros and cons, but it's nice to have a choice in how you want your image shot.
* Speedy!! - In good natural light, this cam snaps a pic, processes it, and displays the image very quickly...more importantly, it captures what you saw when you pressed the shutter button.
* Perfect size - Some digital cams can be clunky and odd shaped. This is perfectly sized to fit in a pocket, purse, or back pack.
* Macro feature - Always nice to have, especially for people that will use this for business purposes or people who need a cam to take close-up, detailed pics, for an auction as an example.
* Rechargeable battery and charger - I was little hesitant about using a proprietary battery -- since my other cam used AAs that you can buy cheaply anywhere -- but so far the battery hasn't even gotten close to needing a recharge. That said, if you're planning on taking this on a trip overseas you might look into buying an extra battery or buying a converter/adapter for using the recharger in outlets in another country.
I've had this camera for about a month and I've taken close to 300 pictures and I've been impressed with most of them. This camera is awesome.
Customer Review: Nice macro
Very nice camera and I'm pleased I bought it. It tends to pull off what it needs to. Can adapt pretty well to different lights. I've been using it for close-ups and some very close ones can turn out rather nicely. Try out the "vibrant" mode in the manual setting, too. It makes color really pop.

Customer Review: 2 out of three
First I got one for my daughter as a gift. She loves it. So I bought one for my mom. It arrived damaged and unusable! The replacement seems to be OK!
Customer Review: Great deal for great toaster oven
I was a little worried before purchasing this oven because of complaints I read of breaking too early, but after one month or so, our family has really enjoyed this toaster/oven. We have used it for making toast and cooking frozen foods. The convection oven works quite quickly so be on your toes if you use it. I just wish that the default level of the color of toast was a little less, because I have to adjust the lightness everytime I toast. I think this is a great price for what you get!

Customer Review: Excellent buy!!!
I am extremely happy with my Garmin 260. It worked right out of the box, exactly as it was supposed to. Out of 100 or more addresses I have used it for so far, some very rural, there were exactly 3 it had trouble with. One, I'm not sure why as it is an established road, one it found the road but not the house as it was a very new house. The last one is a huge retirement center that is too new I guess. Anyway, I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this to anyone. It does accept an SD card and show pictures but I haven't used that feature yet.
Customer Review: very good gps
I have been using it for a month and it has been very helpful. I am very happy with it. only problem is that the points of interest are not up to date' some places no longer exist but they still appear on the gps.
