The first video game ever created was Pong. It was supposed to be the animated equivalent of ping pong. However, graphics were limited to a pair of very crude rectangles (ping pong paddles) and a white square (the ping pong ball). Pong, was in fact, the very first sports game of the video era. Decades have passed since the age of sports games went electronic and the dramatic improvements in graphics, detail, and capability have made them more popular than ever.

Sports games, be they on video games or in real life, have always been a popular attraction for people because they involve competition. Adrenaline begins to pump and that primal desire to vanquish an enemy at some contest is what draws people to sports games. This is precisely what makes these video games so popular amongst gamers to this day.

Sports games always feature a competition?either against another player or against the computer. As with most sports games in real life, there is generally a time limit and some sort of scoring system. A set of rules governs play and the object is usually to score more points than the opponent in a given time period. Sometimes, the point is to reach a certain number of points or attain a specified level.

What has really taken sports games to the next level where video games are concerned are the graphics. Systems today have memories and graphics cards that make Pong look like the sad by-product of a caveman. 3-D graphics, 360 degree angle rotation, slow-motion, and a number of advancements in graphics have made the sports games of today look closer to the real thing than we could have ever imagined possible 20 years ago. Gone are the flat, 2-D players and graphics of the Atari era. In today?s games, animated representations of actual professional athletes look lifelike and bring an added element of realism.

The continued evolution of computer and gaming systems has elevated the realism and entertainment value of sports games to unprecedented levels. The next evolutionary step for sports games in the video game realm may very well involve virtual reality applications that thrust players into the heart of the game itself. While sports games of today may not be able to put you on center court at Wimbledon yet, they may be able to do so in the not-so-distant future!

This DVD is great for both coaches and players who want to learn basic skills in lacrosse. I have two sons ages 8 and 9, and we have watched this video multiple times together. I also plan on using many of the drills in my practices. U11 lacrosse is all about teaching skills and fundamentals. This DVD really helps in that regard. I highly recommend it.

It has good receive and limited range with the stock antenna. I bought the extension antenna for it and it does a little better. If you want to be heard farther than 1/2 mile you should go with a mag mount type antenna for your car. To be clear, I'm happy with this radio and i expected the range that it gets..

I do have 1 NEGATIVE thing to say about this radio. The weather is hard to pull in on it. When my other weather radios are getting the weather channel clearly, this one just got static. It does get the weather if you're close enough to the tower but, a real weather radio does much better.

I use this when I travel up north on I95. I hooked it up with a portable outside antenna and it worked great. I would suggest this setup for anyone that uses it traveling. You would need to buy an adaptor piece (Cobra HA-BNC BNC to Standard Connector for Hand-Held CB Antennas) that fits the antenna to the top of the scanner. I use the Little Wil antenna with this and it works terrific.

The "You Staying Young Workout" DVD is a helpful learning aid like a "show and tell Version of the "cheat sheets" found in the book. Joel Harper illustrates his exercises well both at beginner and advanced levels. His running commentary helps to clarify his procedures even more. Karal Romain makes the Chi-Gong exercises easier to follow, especially when demonstrating the proper sequence of breathing in the process of seaking health benefits. Both trainers have assistants in the role of trainees to provide a more natural team approach to these exercises.Compared to the group exercises of Tai-Chi that I had participated in before, I find the DVD approach to Chi-Gong more efficient and even more liberating allowing me to review and to examine the exercises at my convenience and my own pace. In that sense the DVD has raised the physical education aspects of the book to life.

Customer Review: Defective and dreadful customer service

Anything could be better!!. I live abroad and bought one in USA but it was defective. When I asked PNY for the warranty, they said I had to pay the shipping costs (international, BTW) to get it fixed, it was about US$34, and when they send it back they didn't made it properly and I had to pay custom fees (US$15). They said they would refund the money back but they didn't. At the end, I ended paying about US$170 dlls for an 8gb flash memory. Just google it and you will find how many people complain of this product and the customers service of PNY.

I have several thumb drives. The PNY thumb drive case slips off very easilt, the cover is too easy to lose, there is no lanyard and worst of all it is so flimsy that just inserting or removing it into a USB port is likely to break the end right off. None of the others I have seem so fragile which is contrary to what they are supposed to be designed for.



8 GB and ReadyBoost is what I wanted but I should have stuck with brands I trust.

The fryer works better then any I have ever used. I also appreciate the system of draining the oil from the unit, I helps with the clean up process. It is more expensive then others however I guess you get what you pay for.

If you like to deep fry food like I do, then this machine is the ticket. I have had others and they finally got old so I did my research and bought this one. Its heats up so quickly unlike my others. The clean up is also so easy and I don't have to use cheese cloth over a jar. The oil comes right out the drain tube into their container CLEAN. Wipe out the inside with paper towels and your good to go. Fish and chicken will leave some brown crumbs in the bottom, but I just wipe it out. Now, I do not fry my food with batter. I just dust my food with flour and seasonings. I think it is better for you and less mess. So if you cook that way, this machine is the best around. Makes awesome french fries and sweet potatoe fries too.

the Powershot SD850 has all the features you need in a compact digital camera and it takes great pictures.



I bought this camera to replace a Nikon Coolpix which, unfortunately, was stolen over the holidays. I'm always hesitant to purchase items based on online reviews, but this Canon seemed to have such glowing reviews on every site that I figured I couldn't go wrong. So far, that's been true.



Excellent things about this camera:



* Decent zoom - 4x Optical and the digital zoom is not bad all.



* Flash control - I like controlling the use of the flash (and battery power), so it's nice to have this ability conveniently located on the back of the camera.



* Intuitive design - The system menus are very easy to figure out and utilize. The over design of this camera lends itself easily to those scared of technology (kids and/or grandparents), while still having plenty of tweakable options that more advanced users like to play around with.



* Manual and Auto Shooting - Both have their pros and cons, but it's nice to have a choice in how you want your image shot.



* Speedy!! - In good natural light, this cam snaps a pic, processes it, and displays the image very quickly...more importantly, it captures what you saw when you pressed the shutter button.



* Perfect size - Some digital cams can be clunky and odd shaped. This is perfectly sized to fit in a pocket, purse, or back pack.



* Macro feature - Always nice to have, especially for people that will use this for business purposes or people who need a cam to take close-up, detailed pics, for an auction as an example.



* Rechargeable battery and charger - I was little hesitant about using a proprietary battery -- since my other cam used AAs that you can buy cheaply anywhere -- but so far the battery hasn't even gotten close to needing a recharge. That said, if you're planning on taking this on a trip overseas you might look into buying an extra battery or buying a converter/adapter for using the recharger in outlets in another country.



I've had this camera for about a month and I've taken close to 300 pictures and I've been impressed with most of them. This camera is awesome.

Very nice camera and I'm pleased I bought it. It tends to pull off what it needs to. Can adapt pretty well to different lights. I've been using it for close-ups and some very close ones can turn out rather nicely. Try out the "vibrant" mode in the manual setting, too. It makes color really pop.
